Press Break Operator

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machinery to bend and form sheet metal components to precise specifications. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality fabricated products and maintaining our commitment to manufacturing excellence.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a fabrication environment, possess strong mechanical aptitude, and demonstrate a keen eye for detail and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines in line with technical drawings and production requirements.
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve accurate bends, angles, and dimensions.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting when required.
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment to support fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience operating press brakes within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, grinding, welding, and general metalworking processes.
  • Strong mechanical understanding and the ability to identify and resolve basic machine issues.
  • Competent in the use of hand tools, measuring equipment, and fabrication tooling.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Good mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and machine adjustments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
